SFA Chapter 82 Quarterly Meeting Minutes

11/09/09

One thing about Branson, Missouri, during Veterans Day Homecoming, IT IS PACKED BUMPER TO BUMPER AND PEOPLE TO PEOPLE, by the bus loads even.

Sadly enough, we had some who bailed at the last minute to take care of flu related and unexpected family matters, but....we did have, five (5) members, three with their Ladies, in attendance, along with our perennial guest, Dave Bowden (C27 Secretary) and his wife; whom we can always count on to be there. For which we thank them very much for their interest. Also in attendance, solo, was Gary Wineteer and myself, as well as our guest speaker Ruben Siverling and his wife Bonita.

We shared a room with a few bus load of folks from all over, who dined with us, and enjoyed a fine hour of entertainment by one of the local entertainers in Branson. Following the buffet style menu at the Golden Corral and the entertainment, we held a short and to the point meeting, which was followed by Ruben Siverling's fine presentation.

As so many SF members, Ruben shared several experiences while a member of the Special Forces. One to discover he and Al Bodkin was in the Tenth at the same time on adjacent teams.

During the meeting we decided to donate to the GBF, the minutes form the last meeting was approved, there being no old nor new business, the meeting lasted about ten minutes. Our next meeting will be decided at a later date, TBA.

Sunday the 8th, Pete and Debbie Rothrock, Jim and Jane Rougeau, Brent Gudmundson and friend, Al and Pauline Bodkin, Karl and Betty Petersen, and I attended the Gala. While the others were seated together with others between two tables, I had the privilege of sitting with the ODA from Fifth Group, Fort Campbell, KY. Folks, we have some real fine Lads on the line, and for all you old farts out there, "things ain't changed" except the date and time.
